About the book…

HOW NOT TO BE DUMB!

This book discusses information about what students usually don’t know about going to college. This book is for students who may be first-generation collegegoers. Students with parents who went but did not get the luxury of experiencing the extracurricular activities because they worked 40 hours a week and went to school at night. Students with no parents to give them the heads up, and students who don’t feel comfortable asking their parents the uncomfortable questions stemming from what they have heard or headlines in the media.

About the Author…

DANA O. MOORE

Ms. Dana O. Moore has been a high school science teacher for 18 years in Maryland. She enjoys gardening and museums and is a science fiction fanatic. She loves movies, spending time at her gym, and her monthly brunches because breakfast food should be consumed all day.

After working in human resources and payroll for years, she left corporate America in September 2001, 3 days before the 9-11 attacks. She chose to become a teacher, believing it was her calling, after realizing that life is too short to have a job that doesn’t inspire you. This book came from the desire to aid her students in enjoying their college experience and quelling the fears they had as first-time college students.

She is the mother of 2 hilarious daughters whose college experiences, in many ways, helped her realize that college hasn’t changed much since she graduated.
